Privacy
The short version: your routes, files and lists stay on your device.
Your tools stay in your browser
The calculators run entirely in your browser. Numbers you type and GPX files you open or drop are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. The site never asks for your location: the trail day planner uses only the coordinates you type, and sunset is calculated on your device.
What is stored on your device
To save you retyping, the site keeps some things in your browser's local storage: your colour theme and unit choices, the last route from the hiking time calculator, your settings on each tool, your gear list, your checklist ticks and items, and the trip details you type into the day planner (route name, who is going and notes). These may include names you enter. They never leave your device; clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
Page view counts
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and never receives what you type, choose or load into the tools.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Links to other sites
Links to other websites, including the sources we cite and the tools we recommend, are ordinary links. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
